DW Reporter Attacked by Security After Interview in Dusseldorf

A Deutsche Welle (DW) journalist, Adonis Alkhaled, was attacked by security personnel after conducting an interview with Syrian musician Al Shami at a concert in Dusseldorf over the weekend. The attack, which occurred late Friday and into Saturday morning at the Mitsubishi Electric Hall, prompted widespread condemnation from media organizations and government officials.

The violent incident unfolded after the interview was cut short due to security concerns. The German Journalists’ Association (DJV) also weighed in, describing the attack as a new level of violence against media professionals. The DJV called for stricter measures to protect journalists at public events and urged authorities to take immediate legal action against those responsible.
